I never grew old without you.

Ang tagal na rin pala, no?

So much time has passed

since the last time we were us,

the little things we used to do,

the places we used to go,

the late nights when we'd talk about anything,

even the smallest things

that only made sense between us.

Minsan, I don't even know

what exactly reminds me of you.

It just happens.

Isang kanta, isang lugar,

isang oras ng gabi,

o minsan, isang simpleng feeling lang

na hindi ko maipaliwanag.

And suddenly,

I find myself thinking about you again.

About us.

About what we were,

what we had,

and all the things

we could have been.

Pero bakit parang every now and then,

may something inside me

that quietly brings you back?

And then there are the “sana.”

You remember those plans?

The life we used to imagine,

the things we said we'd do together,

the places we wanted to see,

the ordinary days we thought

we would someday share.

Hindi ko alam kung bakit,

pero hanggang ngayon,

may part of me that still wants them.

Not because I don't know

how to move forward.

But because somewhere in me,

I still wonder what it would have been like

if we actually made it there.

And I still remember

something I once told you—

“Kapag tayong dalawa,

sa anumang paraan, biglang nawala,

hindi na ako maghahanap ng iba.”

I never thought

I'd still be carrying those words

this far.

But somehow, I am.

I still can't understand why

my heart keeps coming back to you.

Parang kahit saan ako tumingin,

kahit gaano karaming tao

ang makilala ko,

somehow,

And maybe that's because

I loved you in a way

that I didn't know how to undo.

Because when I loved you,

I wasn't only imagining you beside me.

I was imagining a life with you.

A home.

Ordinary mornings.

Random conversations.

pag tanda ng mag kasama.

at siguro yun yung dahilan kung bakit

losing you felt like losing more

than just a person.

I lost a future

that never even had the chance to happen.

The strange thing is,

my life didn't stop when you left.

I still wake up.

I still go to school.

I still laugh with people.

I still make plans.

I still grow older.

Pero,

merong parte sa akin

that never did.

A part of me stayed

in the time when you were still here.

Still beside me.

Still mine.

And maybe that's what I mean

when I say—

I never grew old without you.

Tumanda ako, yes.

But the part of me

that love you

remained in the same place.

Still remembering.

Still wondering.

Still imagining the life

we could have had.

And, as much as I try not to admit it,

umaasa parin ako

na sana

one day,

you'll come back.

Maybe that's a foolish kind of hope.

Maybe it's a hope

that has nowhere left to go.

So maybe that's why

I never really grew old without you.

I mean after all that,

my heart still keeps a little piece of time

where you and I were still together.

And maybe,

JUST maybe,

that's the place

I'll always call home.
